STEM CATALYST
STEM Catalyst Programming partners with community-based organizations to expand our reach and engage youth from diverse communities. Our short to medium term initiatives provide broad access to engaging STEM experiences, inspiring interest and improving perceptions of STEM. By participating in our STEM Catalyst programs youth build a solid foundation for future STEM pathways.
Sport and STEM
Our Sport and STEM program, in partnership with MLSE Launchpad, combines STEM and physical activity for grade 7-8 students from target schools across the GTA. Over four half-day sessions, our expert coaches lead interactive STEM-based lessons with curriculum-linked materials. We aim to increase confidence and interest in STEM while incorporating Indigenous perspectives and supporting positive youth development through sport.
STEM Sparks
Our STEM Sparks program is designed to ignite interest and awareness in STEM among youth through hands-on learning and interactive activities. In collaboration with key community partners such as Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) and Lay Up Youth Basketball, we offer engaging STEM workshop series for youth from their programs, ranging from 1-6 weeks in duration. Our partnerships are carefully selected to provide access to STEM learning experiences for youth who may not have otherwise had the opportunity.
STEM Connect Network
Our STEM Connect Network program provides workshops and networking events to connect post-secondary students to STEM career resources, training opportunities and peer networks.
STEM Journey
STEM Journey Programming partners directly with select communities to deepen impact and transform the lives of youth. Our long-term initiatives provide progressive STEM engagement, advance academic, career, and leadership outcomes, and provide families and communities with critical STEM resources. Youth who participate in STEM Journey programming experience:

STEM Camps
Our STEM Camps engage youth grades 6 to 8 in full-day, hands-on workshops and projects that address local community issues using STEM. Youth have the opportunity to work with other young people from their communities who share their passion for STEM and showcase their accomplishments and creativity at our annual Visionary Expo!
STEM Academy
Our STEM Academy helps youth from grades 6 to 8 build and take their STEM skills to the next level. In partnership with select community-based schools, this program offers afterschool 1:1 and group tutoring in math and science, STEM skill-building workshops, and STEM career exploration sessions.
STEM Leaders: Empower
Our STEM Leaders: Empower program offers youth grades 8 to 10 with STEM-based experiential learning opportunities directed towards pursuing post-secondary education, exploring STEM careers, and developing leadership skills. Youth have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, build their skills, and make connections that will last a lifetime.
STEM Leaders: Launch
Our STEM Leaders: Launch program offers youth grades 11 to 12 with STEM-based experiential learning, work-integrated training, coaching, and paid job opportunities. Youth gain valuable experience in their fields of interest and develop the insights that they need to pursue and succeed in their chosen career path.
STEM Connect
Our STEM Connect program offers workshops and networking opportunities that connect you to STEM educational resources, employment opportunities, and peer networks. You'll have the chance to meet other young people who share your interests, learn from industry professionals, and explore the many exciting possibilities that STEM has to offer.
